Tyrone, the youngest of five siblings was a bit of a wild-child growing up. He found an outlet for his energy early on when his father introduced him and his brothers to boxing. Tyrone was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia at birth, but that didn’t stop him from immersing himself in the sport, quickly falling for the excitement of the sweet science. Boxing made him a fighter at heart, and he’s used the determination and dedication it created both in the ring and in battles for his health, powering through life’s ups and downs.

Because of the impact boxing had on his life, when his brother, Leyon, approached him with the idea of starting a boxing studio, no was never an option. He felt like his diagnosis had inspired him to help others accomplish their fitness goals. “When I see my students grow, I feel like I am making a difference in the world,” Tyrone says. Practicing boxing isn’t only about the punches you throw or how hard you can hit, it’s about empowering yourself, never giving up and pushing through the pain. “If I can do it, anyone can do it.”
